Certification, Compliance & Confirmity Manager (m/f/d)

As a Certification, Compliance & Conformity Manager, you will lead all certification, safety, compliance, and conformity activities for our next-generation Counter-UAS interceptor systems. While Quantum Systems already possesses extensive expertise in the certification of unmanned aerial systems, we are expanding into a domain with additional regulatory and technical challenges: military products containing energetic and explosive components.

In this role, you will build the certification strategy for interceptor systems and act as the key interface between engineering, quality, safety, customers, authorities, test centers, and military certification organizations. Your mission is to ensure that our systems can be developed, tested, qualified, and fielded in accordance with applicable military safety, conformity, and operational requirements.

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Own the certification, qualification, compliance, documentation and conformity strategy for Counter-UAS interceptor systems

• Define certification roadmaps and approval concepts for products operating within military and defence environments.

• Coordinate qualification campaigns, safety assessments, conformity evaluations, and acceptance activities with customers, authorities, and external test organizations.

• Interpret and translate military safety, ammunition, explosive-handling, transportation, storage, and operational requirements into engineering deliverables.

• Work closely with Systems Engineering, Verification & Validation, Safety Engineering, Quality, and Product Management teams throughout the development lifecycle.

• Establish and maintain certification evidence, safety cases, compliance documentation, and technical dossiers.

• Act as the central point of contact for military authorities, qualification agencies, defence customers, and certification bodies.

• Support product releases and operational deployments by ensuring all required certification, safety, and conformity obligations are fulfilled.

• Support technical alignment and requirements management with associated sub-suppliers for e.g. explosive payloads.

What you bring to the team:

• You have a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Defence Technology, or a comparable technical discipline.

• You have several years of experience in certification, qualification, airworthiness, system safety, compliance, or regulatory affairs within the defence industry.

• Ideally, you bring direct experience with the certification, qualification, or approval of systems containing energetic or explosive components such as guided missiles, loitering munitions, interceptor systems, smart ammunition, weapon systems, or comparable military products.

• You understand military certification and qualification frameworks and are familiar with working alongside governmental authorities, defence customers, military test centers, and approval organizations.

• You have experience preparing safety cases, conformity documentation, hazard analyses, certification evidence, and qualification records.

• You are comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments where system safety, operational suitability, transportation, storage, and explosive safety requirements intersect.

• You possess strong stakeholder management skills and can successfully coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities in an agile and fast-paced environment.

• Communicating in English and German comes naturally to you.
