To support this vision, we are building a growing Data & AI Delivery Team and establishing a modern, scalable data and AI platform that connects business-critical data across functions and enables innovative AI solutions at enterprise scale.

To strengthen this newly evolving team, we are looking for an experienced AI Engineer / Architect who combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset. In this role, you will help design, deliver, and operationalize AI solutions that create tangible business value across the organization.

Your responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable AI and data solutions that support strategic business objectives and operational excellence across SCHOTT Pharma
• Drive the architecture, delivery, and operationalization of custom-built AI use cases from ideation to productive deployment
• Translate complex business challenges into pragmatic, cost-efficient, and scalable AI solutions
• Provide technical leadership for AI initiatives and contribute to shaping SCHOTT Pharma's long-term AI roadmap and architecture landscape
• Guide and challenge external implementation partners and consultants to ensure high-quality delivery and sustainable solutions
• Contribute to the development of a modern enterprise data and AI platform, establishing standards, best practices, and governance approaches
• Support the integration of AI capabilities into existing business processes while ensuring maintainability, scalability, and operational readiness
• Monitor, optimize, and continuously improve deployed AI solutions to maximize business impact
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and Data & Analytics to identify opportunities for innovation
• Act as a trusted advisor and translator between technical teams and business stakeholders, making AI concepts accessible and actionable

Your profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in AI, Data, Machine Learning, Solution Architecture, or related disciplines
• Proven experience delivering AI solutions from concept through implementation and operation
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI Services, Azure AI Foundry, or comparable hyperscaler environments
• Strong programming skills, preferably in Python
• Experience working with data platforms, cloud architectures, and AI solution ecosystems
• Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, or related AI technologies
• Familiarity with Data Engineering, MLOps, or AI Operations concepts is advantageous
• Experience coordinating external vendors, implementation partners, or consulting teams
• Experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environments is considered a strong advantage
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into business-oriented recommendations
• Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic hands-on mindset
• Comfortable taking ownership and providing technical guidance in cross-functional environments
• Proficient English communication skills, both written and spoken; good command of german is desirable
