Team Lead Quality Control (m/f/d)

About the role:

As the Team Lead (m/f/d) Quality Control, you take ownership of the final product verification and quality release process for our drones before delivery to customers. You will build and lead a team that brings together Final Check and Outgoing Inspection within one Quality Control function.

You will lead the transfer of final quality inspection activities from Production to Quality Control and integrate the colleagues joining your team. Together, you will establish a consistent process that verifies system functionality, ensures product conformity, and enables reliable, timely release for shipment.

Working closely with Production, Production Quality, Engineering, and Logistics, you will ensure that every released product meets defined technical specifications and customer requirements. Your work will support Quantum Systems in its mission to set the standard for aerial data acquisition solutions using unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAVs).

What is your Day to Day Mission:

• Build, lead, and develop the Quality Control team, integrating colleagues from Final Check and Outgoing Inspection and establishing clear responsibilities and training plans

• Lead the transfer of final quality inspection activities from Production to Quality Control while maintaining reliable daily operations

• Own and continuously improve the process from Final Check through Outgoing Inspection to quality release for shipment, with clear handovers and release criteria

• Ensure the reliable execution of functional system tests and final inspections against approved specifications, inspection plans, and customer requirements

• Establish standardized inspection instructions and complete, traceable records covering test results, product configuration, serial numbers, and release status

• Ensure independent, documented release decisions against defined acceptance criteria, including holding nonconforming products and escalating unresolved quality issues

• Coordinate defect assessment, rework, and retesting with Production and Engineering, and work with Production Quality to prevent recurring defects

• Plan team capacity and daily priorities in line with production and delivery schedules while maintaining quality standards

• Monitor KPIs such as first-pass yield, defect rates, and release lead time, and use the results to reduce redundant checks and improve process efficiency

What you bring to the team:

• A completed degree or vocational qualification in a technical discipline, Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in quality control, final inspection, or quality assurance within a technical manufacturing environment

• Experience leading and developing a team, ideally including integrating employees or implementing organizational and process changes

• A strong technical understanding of complex electromechanical products and functional testing; experience with drones or aerospace products is a plus

• Practical experience with inspection planning, acceptance criteria, nonconformity management, and product release processes

• A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving, including experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions

• The confidence to make sound quality decisions and communicate them clearly, including under delivery pressure

• A proactive, hands-on working style and the ability to collaborate effectively across Production, Engineering, and Logistics

• Strong communication skills in English
