The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure (UPS, MV electrical systems, generators, cooling systems etc.) within the data center environment in a specific location.You will report to the Data Center Engineering Operations Manager.Key job responsibilities• SAFETY
Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. As a facility owner team, ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster strong safety culture.
• ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers.
o Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
o Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
o Supervise contractor or Engineering Operations Technicians to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
o Driving continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics.
o Provide training and guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and assist in
recruiting efforts.
o Lead the root cause analysis for operational issues, and conduct meetings with Subject Matter Experts finalize mitigation strategies.
Physical requirements
• Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations).
• Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night)
• On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls
• Work at heights and from ladders; in a noisy with ear protection

The role requires a highly driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to complex technical problems.
This position requires frequent site interventions, critical switching activities, along with troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure issues. The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a ‘hands on' capacity on Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure such as diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, AHU's, fire detection systems and building automation systems. SMEs) , therenothing we can't achieve in the cloud.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical/ Mechanical field or equivalent recognized training
- Broad operational knowledge experience with and mechanical equipment.
- Good English communication

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of network design and layout as well as low voltage (copper/ fiber) cabling
- Experience in data center
