Senior Tax Manager - Reporting and GloBE (m/f/d) at Allianz SE

GTAX supports the Board of Management in ensuring high-quality, efficient tax reporting and tax compliance, and represents the company before external authorities. GTAX sets group-wide tax standards, steers and coordinates local tax functions to ensure effective tax risk management, and safeguards Allianz's reputation as a responsible taxpayer. Group Tax operates globally, with regular interaction across operating entities, tax authorities, senior management, and C-level stakeholders.
In this role you will take ownership of and drive the following areas:
- GloBE / Pillar 2 Compliance: Own and drive the end-to-end GloBE / Pillar 2 reporting and compliance process for Allianz Group, including fiscal audit topics
- Pillar 2 Tax Planning: Support Pillar 2 tax planning initiatives, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and steering impact assessments to shape strategic decision-making on investment structures and Groupwide tax positioning
- Governance & Policy Development: Drive the development of governance frameworks, policies, and standards for sustainable Pillar 2 compliance across all jurisdictions
- Process Automation & Standardization: Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of tax reporting processes and tools to increase efficiency and data quality
- Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR): Manage CbCR to fiscal authorities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Public Tax Transparency: Drive public tax transparency reporting, positioning Allianz as a leader in responsible tax governance
- IFRS & Solvency II Tax Accounting: Steer internal and external reporting on the tax situation in quarterly and annual IFRS and Solvency II financial statements, including setting and evolving related tax accounting policies and guidelines across Allianz Group
- Complex Tax Issues & Cross-Functional Projects: Drive the resolution of complex tax accounting issues and act as the central point of accountability for cross-functional projects related to tax accounting and reporting, ensuring alignment with Group strategy
Minimum Qualifications
- Academic Background: University degree in business administration, finance, economics, law or a related field; certified tax advisor (Steuerberater) preferred
- Professional Experience: 5+ years of experience as tax advisor, tax manager, or in-house tax specialist
- IFRS & Solvency II Expertise: Proven experience in IFRS tax accounting and reporting, including expert IAS 12 knowledge
- Global Minimum Tax Knowledge: Deep expertise in Global Minimum Tax / Pillar 2 / GloBE regulations and hands-on experience in implementation projects, including related IT tool landscapes
- International Tax Expertise: Expert knowledge in national and international taxation, ideally with a focus on investment structures
- Technical & Digital Skills: Very good knowledge of Excel, SAP, and AI-powered tools; experience in IT tool development/implementation and data analysis
- Language Skills: Business-fluent English (German is a plus)
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to analyze complex tax data and translate findings into actionable insights

- Project Management: Proven ability to manage and drive complex projects independently from initiation to completion
- AI & Automation: Experience with AI solutions, Generative AI (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot), and automation of tax processes
- Communication & Teamwork: Excellent communication and presentation skills; collaborative team player with stakeholder management experience
- Attention to Detail: Structured, detail-oriented, and consistent way of working with the ability to address complex issues
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in insurance, asset management, financial services, or consulting
- Digital Affinity: Interest in or experience with digital transformation, data analytics, and tech-driven process optimization
- Problem-Solving: Ability to navigate ambiguity and develop pragmatic solutions in a dynamic, international environment
